Our  foundation dogs were brought to Australia from the United States and are only 2-3 generations from directly imported Yugoslavian (former Yugoslavia) dogs and have excellent lines.

The Male "Pasha" is from a working sheep ranch in North Carolina. The female,  Ambra-Voodoo (we call her Lulu at Home) is from  Zoran Milovukovic's famous "Shara Kennels" in Upstate New York.  Zoran's dogs are considered by many as the premier Sarplaninacs in the USA and world class examples of the breed. We also now have the son of Pasha & Lulu ( Zorro) and the Latest member of our Family  Ambra. from Ste Kot North Kennels in the Czech republic.  Ambra was imported into Australia on September 14th 2008 and arrived pregnant with puppies from the well respected Serbian Sire Klej.

In 2006 Southern Star Sarplaninac Kennels  acquired some excellent frozen semen from a European kennel in the Czech Republic "Ste-Kot North".  We now have three new Stud dogs here (on-ice )  in Australia, (Taras, Murko & Fill).

With the birth of the first Sarplaninac litter of eight puppies in Australia on June 17th, 2003 + 3 in 2004 as well as our recent litter of 7 and the addition of Ambra there are now a total of 23 Sarplaninac from Southern star Kennels in Australia.
